David Thomas has just returned home from Paris after attending the official launch of the Dakar Rally.  David received his race number – #76.

Thomas was extremely happy and said “ it is a very special number as this is my birthday year”

25 Days to the kick off of the Race and David is pushing his body to get used to high altitude. David is committed to be fit and strong.  He is  waiting to take up residence in a highly specialized flat, where he will be able to sleep in a simulation of high altitude, and train at sea level in the morning. David just spent 7 days in Lesotho. He trained every day for 8 hours, between cycling, running the mountains, and riding his bike to increase his red blood cells. Thomas at 3800 Meters high stated, “ My lungs are burning! This is tough! – At Dakar I will be in Bolivia for 4 days, riding in the unknown, at an average of 4200 Meters above sea level”!!

Back in Cape Town, David continues to challenge himself, preparing and fine tuning all the logistic loose ends.
